Première collection de tous les morceaux des premiers albums de compilation The Johnny Winter Story (1969), About Blues (1969) et Early Times (1970). 33 titres sur un 2CD avec des notes originales de 1969 par Pete Welding. Avant de signer avec Columbia Records en 1969 et de devenir l'un des guitaristes de blues les plus éminents au monde, Johnny Winter a enregistré un certain nombre de singles et de morceaux avec les producteurs Ken Ritter et Roy C. Ames. À partir de ce matériel, 'The Johnny Winter Story' est apparu sur GRT Records en 1969, suivi la même année par 'About Blues' sur le label Janus Records. L'année suivante, Janus sort une autre collection : Early Times. Elles devinrent les collections définitives des premiers travaux de la future légende.
